For some odd reason I keep putting Rhianna in front. It's really not a good idea given that all of her damaging attacks aren't very effective against poison types. Like yesterday, I set up Stun Spore to give Nelly an advantage.
Gastly is intent on keeping Rhianna, however.
Acid is a new move of Rhianna's. It's not as effective as Vine Whip, but it does have a chance of lowering enemy Sp. Def, which is nice.
Gastly's paralysis prevents it from acting on all but one turn, so Rhianna gets off nearly scot free.
My Stun Spore plan doesn't work well against Haunter, because he confuses Rhianna first and her turn is wasted on self-mutilation.
I switch out to Nelly to avoid dealing with confusion. It does not end productively.
After several Night Shade/Bite exchanges and two Lemonades, Nelly is barely able to beat Haunter.
The final Pokemon, Gastly, is an idiot and uses Curse. Nelly kills it on the first turn because of this.
Contrary to popular belief, combat mechanics has nothing to do with it.
