So here's the plan. I need a Pokemon who can learn Whirlpool. My water Pokemon are Aidan and Sarah (the Red Gyrados). Aidan can't learn it for some dumb reason, and Sarah is a strong enough Pokemon that I don't want to waste a move slot on Whirlpool (which sucks as a move.) Thus, I'm going to catch a Poliwhirl in the pond next to the Gym, which can learn Whirlpool.
There's a 40% chance, when using a Good Rod, to catch a Poliwirl. The remaining 60%...
