Day 393: Poliwhirl

 Here we go again!

 Perfect!

 If I used Rhianna to actually attack Poliwhirl, it'd get wrecked. So I stun spore it and send Aidan in.

 I use a few surfs to bring it down.

 I... didn't actually capture the right moment here, but Aidan critical hit'd Poliwag to death. God damnit, Aidan.

Day 392: Magikarp

 So here's the plan. I need a Pokemon who can learn Whirlpool. My water Pokemon are Aidan and Sarah (the Red Gyrados). Aidan can't learn it for some dumb reason, and Sarah is a strong enough Pokemon that I don't want to waste a move slot on Whirlpool (which sucks as a move.) Thus, I'm going to catch a Poliwhirl in the pond next to the Gym, which can learn Whirlpool.

 There's a 40% chance, when using a Good Rod, to catch a Poliwirl. The remaining 60%...

 ...is Magikarp.

 Rhianna kills it immediately.

Day 391: Magikarp

 So I've come across another obstacle. This here whirlpool requires a Pokemon who knows Whirlpool. For some reason, Aidan can't learn it. So, again I am forced to head back to town.

 A Magikarp plans to destroy Rhianna. It ends about as well as you would expect.

Day 390: Twins Clea & Gil

“Who are you?”

 Your worst nightmare, etc.

 I'm not going to dictate all the shenanigans involved with a double battle, so...

 Basically they both died after two Powder Snows.

Day 388: Magikarp

So there's one more trainer battle left in the Dragon's Den. It's a double battle with a pair of Dratinis. They're just the perfect level to help along Dorothy and Rhianna. However, Rhianna is dead, so...

I use an escape rope to heal her first.

I arrive back at the entrance to the Dragon's Den. There's a little pond I need to traverse before I can get to the Pokecenter, though...

And of course, I get caught.

 Enjoy your, like, two experience, Dorothy.

Day 387: Ace Trainer Piper

 Along the way, I come upon an Ace Trainer. She's got two Horseas and a Seadra, so I get Rhianna out for some much-needed attention.

 Rhianna's attack falls just short of killing it. This will come into play later.

 For now, though, Rhianna just kills it on the next turn without difficulty.

 Next up is Seadra. After a few turns, Rhianna brings it within an inch of its life. In turn, Seadra uses several nasty Waterfalls, bringing Rhianna herself beyond half.

 Unfortunately, this Seadra's an asshole and goes first, hitting Rhianna with a critical Waterfall.

I bring out Aidan for the ol' sacrifice-and-revive trick. Rhianna's going to get this experience.

Aidan dies an untimely death, and Rhianna finishes Seadra off.

 With Piper's second Horsea, Rhianna again brings it within an inch of it's life.

"Meh," I think to myself. "What's the worst that could happen?"

Horsea fucks Rhianna up with Brine, that's what happens.

 Fuck's sake.

 The next turn, I use Dorothy to finish it off. I'm not made of revives.

 Dorothy learns Avalanche (in place of Fake Tears, which I never used) and the battle concludes.

“When I do, I'm going to become an

admirable Dragon Tamer and gain our

Master's approval.”

Day 386: Magikarp

Still in the cave.

 Still caving in the cave.

Day 386: Power Outageikarp

So, I'm at work right now. With the sweet, sweet bandwidth that only a University can afford.

At home, however, we've got a power outage. It... might be fixed by now, I'm not sure. I'll have to check when I get home.

But this means that, if it's out, I won't be able to update tonight.

Gasp.
