Day 211: Executive Ariana (and Team Rocket Grunt)

The next day, back at the transmitter machine...
The Murkrow must have some innate sense of justice, because it finds its way here and opens the door for me. Better save the day...
“It'll hurt Team Rocket's pride over and
over again. Making it lessen, you see.
...So, it's time to finish you. However
strong you may be, if the two of us
fight at the same time, you'll have no
chance of winning. Don't you agree?
Hee hee hee! Sorry, baby. Now, get
ready to be thrashed.”
 Baby? Odd word choice...
“A two-on-one battle?
That is so unfair!”
 Um...
 Yeah unfair ok. Lance continues:
“Typical of Team Rocket to be so sneaky.
Allow me to join the battle!”

“Ariana: What? You had an accomplice?
Where is your sense of dignity?
As interim boss in place of Giovanni,
I'll show you how wrong it is to meddle
with Team Rocket!”
Riveting!
"Team Rocket Grunt!"
As you can see, Lance has got my back, making that one pose that rappermen make when they've finished a (set of?) raps. Or at least I assume so; I've never seen or heard a rapperman before.
He brings out Dragonite, the least intimidating Dragon Pokemon ever.
Dragonite flies into the air as Diane uses Flame Wheel to kill Drowzee. Arbok uses Glare to paralyze Diane.
Next turn, Dragonite swoops down and kills Grimer. The Grunt's Pokemon just cannot get any respect.
Dragonite uses Thunder, destroying Arbok in one hit.
Oh and the animation for it looks amazing. Jesus christ.
Murkrow, being flying, is also wrecked by Thunder.
The last Pokemon is Ariana's Gloom; it nearly kills her with a critical Acid. Meanwhile, Dragonite flies into the air again.
Dragonite kills Gloom for me while I heal Diane with a Sitrus berry.
Diane hits level 35, learning Lava Plume. It's pretty much Ember, but twice the base special attack damage! I replace Ember with it, keeping Flame Wheel (because it's a murder explosion), Quick Attack (for when I absolutely need a bit of damage before the opponent) and Cut (because it's a dumb HM and I can't remove it yet.)
"and Team Rocket Grunt!"
I'm not sure that promotion strategy makes a lot of sense.
“It doesn't matter what happens to this
hideout now.
We have much bigger plans.
You'll come to appreciate Team
Rocket's true power soon enough.
Enjoy yourself while you can...
Hee hee hee...”
INSERT EVIL HENCHWOMAN DIALOGUE #6 HERE

She leaves, leaving me and Lance to have a victory chest bump...
“We have no choice. We have to make all
the ELECTRODE faint.
That should stop this machine from
transmitting that strange signal.
It's no fault of the ELECTRODE, so it
makes me feel sad.
Stalin, let's split the job.”
Sounds easy enough, but the tortured Electrode will have to wait another day.

Day 210: Executive Petrel

The next day, on the lowest level of the Team Rocket base...
 Guah!

 ...
“So you are messing with them again.
Humph, you must really like Team Rocket
so much.
...Tell me, who was the guy in the cape
who used Dragon-type Pokemon?
My Pokemon were no match at all.
I don't care that I lost. I can beat
him by getting stronger Pokemon.
It's what he said that bothers me...
He told me that I don't love and
trust my Pokemon enough.
I'm furious that I lost to a bleeding
heart like him.
Humph! I don't have the time for the
likes of you!”
That's Lan- oh, he left. Well then. I open up those big metal doors using the SLOWPOKETAIL and RATICATETAIL passwords.
“Me?
You don't know who I am?
It is me, Giovanni.
The majestic Giovanni himself!
Wahahaha!
...Huh?
I don't sound anything like Giovanni?
I don't even look like Giovanni?
How come? I've worked so hard
to mimic him!
He spins around to reveal...
You must be trying to sneak into the
radio-transmitter room.
Well, that's not going to happen.
That room is protected with a special
password. The password is
'Hail Giovanni.'
Surprised to hear it from me?
Knowing the password won't help
you though.
The door won't open unless I say the
password. It only reacts to my voice.”
I am loving those eyebrows.
He opens with Zubat, who dies in one hit to Flame Wheel.
Koffing survives a turn of Flame Wheel, but only uses "Assurance," a move that deals pitiful damage unless Diane had already been hurt this turn. I finish it off with another Flame Wheel.
Raticate goes ahead and dies in one hit to Flame Wheel.
“been missing.
But we're certain he's been waiting
for the right time for our revival...
Wahahaha!
Losing to you won't change the fact
that you are unable to get in the
radio-transmitter room!
You need my voice to unlock it!”
oh darn. He skips off, laughing with glee, and leaves me to my own devices. Did you notice that Murkrow in the corner?
“MURKROW is mimicking
the voice of Petrel!
You may be able to...!?”
Oh, I know! I can cook it for a delicious meal!

Day 209: Team Rocket Grunt

Rattata goes down in one hit with Flame Wheel.
This Rattata, too, goes down with a single hit.
 Indeed, so does this asshole.
“Pokemon, this kid with long red hair and
mean-looking eyes just whomped me...”
Heh, "whomped." Oh Team Rocket Grunt.

Day 208: Team Rocket Grunt

The next day, Stalin is attracted to the sound of hyucks...
“You're challenging me to a battle?
Hah! You're nuts, but you have guts!
I like that! If you can beat me, I'll
tell you a password to the boss's room!”
Raticate, his only Pokemon, dies in one hit.
“But if you don't have both passwords...
Ha ha ha!”
 But I do! Hyuck-hyuck-hyuck!

Day 207: Scientist Mitch

None of us care. It's Pokemon!
Ditto gets killed in one hit with good ol' Flame Wheel.
“The very thought excites me!”
Radio. What's going on with that radio?
